Week 2 Recap!

Last week we cleaned up all our work from semester 1. This included applying some feedback, packaging up some of the games main elements in preparation to move it into a new fresh workspace. Another part of the clean-up was redesigning a few of our quest items to match with the games title screen with the new stylistic direction.

We also discussed what we wanted to add to the game and where we ultimately wanted to game to end up by the end of semester. This included a huge change to the aim of the game as we felt our original idea was just to ambitious for the time constraints we’ve been given. We’ve added more NPCs and more quests which will all be revealed in the upcoming weeks.

With it being week 2, It’s time to introduce you to the team!

We are a team of 4 people as of right now and each of us have different roles to keep the production of the game in line from the art style to naming standards in coding. Here’s a bit about us!

PRODUCER AND TECH LEAD: Zac

Hi I’m Zac the Producer and Tech lead for Crow Get It. I’m responsible for each mechanic and technical implementation we have added. Outside of this I spend most of my time playing DnD, and drawing. I specialize in character art so I end up sketching my characters most of the time. Anyway that’s me and I hope you all enjoy the work we’ve put towards this project!

ART LEAD: Shiona

My name is Shiona, and I am the Art Lead for Crow Get It. I help my fellow members of the team to keep the games art style consistent.  I love to draw and create things and have and especially love colour. I have grown up playing games and wanted to combine my passions for art and games together to create games for others to enjoy. I’m so glad to be working on this game with my team and bring our combined vison of this game to life for all to enjoy.

DESIGN LEAD: Emily

Howdy! I'm Emily and I'm responsible for 3D modelling in our game Crow Get It! In my own time I binge watch and re-watch TV shows like Good Omens and movies like James Cameron's Avatar 1 and 2. I've always had a spot in my heart for movies and games - in fact, it's watching How To Train Your Dragon as a kid that inspired me to learn how to animate and pursue tertiary education. During my time studying, my passion hasn't wavered one bit, I've enjoyed every part of it and I look forward to sharing that passion with all of you in this beloved game, Crow Get It!

MARKETING AND TEST LEAD: Jacinta

I’m Jacinta and I’ve taken on the role of the marketing and test lead. In the first semester I was the producer as I made the original pitch for crow get it. In my spare time I love to draw and play games and those hobbies are what sparked my love for game design! It’s exciting to be with the other three bringing our vision to life and I can’t wait for people to see where the game will be by the end of the semester.
